WhatsApp Payments Might Soon Earn You Cash Back

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a cashback feature that will offer WhatsApp Payments to users as rewards. WhatsApp Pay, the chat app’s payment service for Android, has not been as popular as expected because WhatsApp doesn’t serve ads, and it needs to find another revenue stream. The company might be considering offering cashback rewards to WhatsApp Pay users in an effort to increase its popularity with customers.

WhatsApp, on the other hand, is spending a lot of time and effort building up its own person-to-person money transfer market. In India and Brazil, WhatsApp has introduced mobile person-to-person payments. What’s better than sending your buddy money to cover the time you left your wallet in the car? But there are several things. However, one of the many things is receiving a tiny portion of that payment back in credit.

Other applications have launched cashback incentives to encourage consumers to use their products instead of others. This is the first time we’ve heard of Facebook attempting to utilize a comparable approach. WhatsApp Pay presently accounts for a small percentage of India’s UPI payments market. The money-back incentive could be seen as the firm’s attempt to increase its appeal.

According to WABetaInfo, the function is being developed for future versions of the software, although the framework may be seen in the source code. It appears that the “cashback” function is only available in India, or that’s where WhatsApp intends to deploy it first. And during the promotional period, the value is merely ten rupees (about 14 cents in the US).

How do WhatsApp Payments work?

WABetaInfo’s findings indicate that the current code appears to offer a one-time payout of merely ₹10 ($0.14), which is far less than what other apps provided at launch, but it could alter during the rollout. You’ll also receive cash back after you make your payment, which is great since it’s so quick. Plus, you’ll get the money back 48 hours after you make your purchase.

For example, the first 10,000 people to use WhatsApp Pay will receive a gift. The reward could be limited to those who transact using WhatsApp Pay for the first time, so if you’ve already utilized it, you’re out of luck.
