What is Nvidia shield Pro? Advantages of purchasing one

What is Nvidia shield pro that you mostly hear during the streaming comparisons? Let us take a deep look into why is it popular and how useful it is. The Nvidia Shield Pro is a high-end Android TV set-top box that can be used for video games and also features 4K HDR streaming. It’s Nvidia’s latest flagship Android TV device targeted at hardcore gamers, and it has the hardware to back up its claims. The Nvidia Shield Pro features a Tegra X1 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, MicroSD card slot for expansion, USB Type-C port, 802.11ac Wi-Fi with 2×2 MIMO support, and Bluetooth 4.1.

We will explain more about what the Nvidia Shield Pro is in a bit, but first I want you to know what it can do. The NVIDIA Shield Pro can run video games or movies in 4K HDR quality. It has the power to run games at Ultra HD, with a steady 30 FPS. The Shield Pro also allows you to use its USB Type-C port for an array of peripherals for your TV or monitor. If you connect an external hard drive or keyboard/mouse combo, you can even turn it into a full PC if you want.

What is Nvidia shield pro and its Perks:

1) You get automatic updates directly from Google Play so that you’re always running on the latest software.

2) As an Android TV set-top box, it will feature apps such as YouTube and Netflix which allow you to watch 4K HDR content without needing a separate device.

3) Like all Nvidia products it has the best customer support in the industry.

The Nvidia Shield Pro is only compatible with 4K HDR TVs and monitors, so you need to have a TV that supports those resolutions to actually take advantage of it. You can find out what your TV’s native resolution is by looking for it on the specification list or manual for your device. If it does not display 4K resolution then this device will not work with it.

Your computer monitor may also be able to run video games or movies from the Nvidia Shield, but chances are its refresh rate won’t be fast enough so that you experience lag when playing even if your graphics card does support 4K HDR gaming. The latest models of PC monitors should work well with this set-top box. The Nvidia Shield Pro is a great purchase for people who want to play games. It’s the newest and best TV set-top box for playing games.

What are the Advantages of the Nvidia shield pro streaming device?

Nvidia shield pro has several advantages over other streaming devices such as the Apple TV 4K, Roku Premiere, or Google Chromecast Ultra in that it features a more powerful processor for gaming and also supports high-quality audio formats.

While the Roku Premiere and Chromecast Ultra can stream video at up to 2160p (4K) resolution, they are limited to 720p for games. They both also support Dolby Audio format but don’t have DTS 5.1 support of the Shield Pro device which is designed to be used with home theater systems. The Nvidia Shield Pro offers direct access to most apps on Android TV including Vudu, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV and Spotify, etc. that currently do not officially support streaming to Apple TV or Roku.

Dolby Vision 4K HDR Streaming

The addition of Dolby’s new video format, which was announced in January at CES 2017 and is set to debut this fall on Netflix as well as 4K Blu-ray discs and home theater displays that meet specific performance criteria, represents a consumer electronics industry first.

While there are no devices available yet, today anyone with a compatible display and the latest version of the Nvidia Shield can use Google Play Movies & TV app to watch content using the new high dynamic range technology. Dolby Vision brings life-like color gradations, contrast, and brightness levels that far surpass those achieved by other technologies such as high dynamic range 10 (HDR10). The Shield Pro device supports all major HDR formats including HDR10 and Dolby Vision.

The Shield Pro supports Nvidia’s GameStream technology which allows streaming games from a gaming PC running compatible Nvidia GeForce graphics cards over your home network connection. Any PC that has a supported GPU and is equipped with Steam can become a remote gaming device.

It will enable even the most hard-core gamers to play their favorite titles on TV screens while watching live sports, news, or whatever they want without having to buy an additional console setup for streaming like what you need for using the Playstation 4 or Xbox One S machines. All you need to do is connect the SHIELD controller via Wi-Fi Direct from the Shield Pro device into any available USB on your PC.

The remote gaming service will allow you to play titles from top-performing and best-selling GeForce GTX 1080, 1070, 1060, or 1050 desktop graphics card series on the SHIELD device that supports 4K HDR streaming. In addition to playing games directly out of your Steam library so no need for a wireless keyboard or mouse making you feel like just sitting in front of a larger version of your PC rather than having another separate console along with all its wires and accessories.

The Shield Pro is also compatible with Google’s Project Stream also known as ‘early access beta’ which enables gamers who have a very fast broadband connection, to play top-quality video games while they are being streamed by Google over the internet. Users must live within Francisco, Fresno, Austin, and Kansas City; Portland OR; Chicago or Champaign-Urbana, IL regions to be able to use the service.

It also supports 4K HDR Movie Streaming of content from the VUDU streaming service as well as Netflix which is now available for download in 4K resolution. It’s a great feature that makes it so much easier than trying to configure separate devices like Apple TV to serve as both a media streamer and gaming device. The Nvidia Shield Pro will also allow you to access a wide variety of other apps on Android TV including the Google Play Movies & TV app where you can stream your purchased films and shows in 4K/HDR quality.

The SHIELD controller included with your device allows you to enjoy gameplay using your TV screen, it’s a super-sensitive touchpad that supports swiping and tapping as well as a highly sensitive microphone for Google Assistant voice search and other features. The controller also has a rechargeable battery, so you can use your device for hours without running out of power. It is not to be mistaken with the newer Google Mini remote control with built-in microphones and earbuds that lets you stream music from Spotify.
