What are the best ways to transfer large files on the internet?

Large files can take a long time to transfer on the internet. There are many ways to transfer large files, but some methods may be more secure than others. We all have faced the absolute letdown of “The file exceeds the limits.” Our mails can’t carry huge files. Gmail has the ability to only hold files up to 25 MB. Large files will eat your storage, even if it’s just sitting in Sent. However, we bring you the best ways to send the largest of files can be sent to whoever.

Ways to transfer large files

Upload files to a cloud storage space

We could use a cloud storage space like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive to send large files. If you’re sending an attachment via Gmail, you’ll see the Google Drive button integrated. Dropbox allows you to upload large files while letting you send a web link via email/text to the recipient. Dropbox’s free tier provides 2 GB of storage space. For $9.99 per month, you’ll receive storage to 1 TB.

Use file compression software

Consider using free compression software like 7-Zip. Zip files in general support lossless data compression, and they are a good move to save space whilst ensuring the security and intactness of your files. 7-Zip is available for Windows, Mac as well as Linux.

Purchase a USB flash drive

Despite being the oldest trick in the book, it works like a charm. These can range in size from 2 GB to 1 TB. Using a USB takes some strain off your computer.

Use a VPN

Some internet service providers use broadband traffic management to moderate the upload bandwidth. If this is the case, you can use a VPN, which prevents your ISP from recognizing how large your files are, thus enabling you to send them. However, a large file could slow down your VPN connection. Also, there is no guarantee of how intact the files will be after delivery.

Use Jumpshare

It lets you send up to 250 MB worth of sized files with a free account. Upload a file or folder, and Jumpshare will provide you with a link to share the files. You have the ability to download the Jump share icon to your desktop. When you drag-and-drop files onto it, a link is copied. This link can be sent to anyone, even if they don’t have an account.
