Reddit is an enormously popular discussion site and the most important factor to that are the “subreddits,” or subsidiary forums centered around different and sometimes niche topics. These themed forums allow users to engage in ongoing discussions about shared interests. When it is time to switch over to a different topic, users can just choose a new subreddit from the toolbar, which is usually situated at the top. How to search within a sub reddit (For desktop users)
First, visit the subreddit
There are two ways you can locate and reach a subreddit you wish to share your opinions in.
The first way is for you to simply search the keyword for the subreddit you wish to reach. This will work great if you have not joined that subreddit.
Say you have already joined the subreddit and wish to search in, you can click the subreddit dropdown, then select it from the list that appears.
Else, you can use the subreddit search bar
When you visit a subreddit, the name of that subreddit appears at the beginning of the Search Reddit bar, and usually can be spotted along the top of the interface. This is how you understand that you are searching within that subreddit.
You have to enter your search term in the space after the name of the subreddit, then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
Or, you can click the bottom option from the subsequent dropdown menu, it is titled Search for “[your search term]”.
The subreddit search results will appear. If you want to search the whole of Reddit for that search term, you have to click the blue Show results from the all of Reddit button.
How to search within a sub reddit (If you are an Android and iOS user)
- First, open the Reddit mobile app. From the Home screen, use the Search bar along the top to locate and reach the subreddit you wish to search in.
- When you visit that subreddit, the name of the subreddit will occupy the beginning of the search bar. You can use the search bar to search for whatever term you wish to search.
