The iPhone/iPad host a handy feature that allows you to hide photos on your Camera Roll. This article will show you how you can hide photos in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.

If you have a ton of pictures you want to store and don’t want them clogging your Camera Roll. It was common for people to use third-party apps, or they had to store sensitive information off-device in the cloud. Call it bad luck if you would, both solutions were hardly ideal.

Thankfully, we can now natively hide photos via our iPhone’s Photos app. Apple implemented this new feature in its iOS 14. By using this Hide feature on the iPhone/iPad, we can easily store photos out of sight.

How to hide photos on your iPhone/iPad?

  • Open the Photos app
  • Select the picture you want to hide
  • If not, you can tap on Select in the top right, then select multiple photos
  • Tap on share in the lower left
  • Scroll down, then tap on hiding
  • Tap on hiding Photo
  • Hidden photos will not show up in the Camera Roll.
  • However, you can easily access anything hidden by viewing the Hidden folder.

How to find the Hidden Album on your iPhone/iPad?

  • Open the Photos app
  • Tap on the Albums tab
  • Keep scrolling to the bottom
  • Tap on Hidden
  • Apple also provides you the ability to hide your Hidden album as well.

How to hide the Hidden Album feature on your iPhone?

  • Open the Settings app
  • Scroll down, then tap on Photos
  • Scroll down, then toggle the Hidden Album to Off
  • Note: Hiding the Hidden album does not prevent those who already know about the feature from taking a look. It does ensure that no one will accidentally stumble upon the private photos.

How to show the “Hidden Album” feature on your iPhone/iPad?

  • Open the Settings app
  • Scroll down, then tap on Photos
  • Scroll down, then toggle the Hidden Album to On
