Neuralink is a Brain-Machine Interface In Your Skull With Tiny Wires

Neuralink corporation, a private company owned by Elon Musk, who is also the CEO of auto and rocket makers Tesla and SpaceX. Neuralink, co-founded by Elon Musk and Max Hodak in 2016 develops brain embed machines. It’s basically a brain implant that could expand human brain capabilities which is not the first of its kind. But Musk wants to make it much better in this neuro technical field with AI. He says that it’s like a Fitbit in the brain with tiny wires which could enable “superhuman cognition”.

Neuralink For Better Life:

Neuralink will treat people with autism, depression, and helps paralyzed people operate their smartphones with the mind. It also develops surgical robots to use them in brain implantation and makes this installation process as simple as a LASIK eye surgery which follows a similar process. But this is seen far down the road as it has to get approval from their official medical organizations after going through immense clinical trials. Recently, Elon released a video showing the clinical trials on pigs implanted with Neuralink causing no harm to their bodies. If everything goes as per their expectations, this will definitely be a game-changer for people with life-altering diseases like ALS, Parkinson’s, and paralysis.

Neuralink is not just limited to the medical field, but it can also be used in any other medium once it gets started. Gaming will witness a next-level change with the help of these implants. In a recent post, Elon Musk released a video of a Macaque monkey named Pager playing Pong by using a brain chip.

Brains May Get Hacked:

Although the company started in 2016, it was first publicly reported in March 2017. It demonstrated how they are going to use the brain chips and the impact it would have, in their events but in reality, we haven’t seen at least half of their claims done.

The main concern about using brain chips is that you are barely left with any amount of privacy as it transfers the information from the brain to your smartphone through a Bluetooth device. This gives many chances for hacking your chip after which your personal data, secured info, your past interests, everything will not just be yours, but for everyone who can access your implanted chip. Once the Neuralink brain chip hits the market, slowly it’ll be the next big change in technology and everyone has to adapt to these changes. On the brighter side, this is an advancement in many fields with the help of Artificial Intelligence, but on the darker side, it may turn humans into machines.
