Why are the Kardashians so famous? A brief history HalfofThe
Why are the Kardashians so famous? A brief history HalfofThe

When we come across the surname “Kardashian” the first name that strikes our minds is none other than Kim Kardashian. Some say that if it wasn’t for her infamous tape people wouldn’t even know that they existed. But the name Kardashian got famous way before that tape even before she started working for her famous friend Paris Hilton (which we will address later in this article).

How did the Kardashian name reach the public’s attention?

If you guys remember OJ Simpson’s trial in 1995 who was proven not guilty for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and his friend Ronald Goldman, well Robert Kardashian(Kim Kardashian’s father) was one of his defense lawyers and friend.

That trail created a huge media frenzy during its time and Robert Kardashian’s name was taken several times in newspapers and news channels. So this is how the name Kardashian was put on the media map. Nevertheless, it was just Robert who got the fame not his entire family.

So how did the Kardashians become famous?

Kim grew up in a privileged environment that gave her access to high-profile connections and helped her get a job as Paris Hilton’s stylist, they eventually became close friends later on. At that time Paris was very famous among the paparazzi’s and since Kim was around Paris most of the time even she was on the tabloids along with her. So basically working for Paris gave Kim her shortcut to fame. But she wasn’t a household name yet.

When Kim’s mother Kris Jenner decided to start a reality show that focused on their family’s personal and professional lives, “coincidentally” just a few months before the show aired, Kim’s infamous tape got out. It went viral all over the news and the internet, and that’s how Kim Kardashian’s name was put on the map. Since the tape got so viral, some people got curious about her life, and that’s how their show keeping up with the Kardashians became an instant hit. Though the show kind of began on a controversial note, the Kardashians turned out to be a tight-knit family with great family bonding and values, which was clearly reflected in the show. The show also features their extravagant lifestyle and expensive vacations, which gained even more audience.

The Kardashian Empire:

Today, each Kardashian sits on millions of dollars, some even billions. They were smart enough to use their fame the right way to establish a successful business, and now they created their empire. It is not wrong to call the Kardashians self-made, but at the same time, it also not wrong to call them famous for being famous.
